Post-Doctoral Opportunities at DULCI:
The Duke University Laboratory of Computational Immunology seeks one or more postdoctoral fellows to work on large multi-laboratory research projects that involve the generation and integration of diverse sources of experimental data as well as the development and application of novel computational models and methods.
The main goal of these projects is the improvement of vaccines and the elucidation, at the systems level, of the processes that lead to protective immunity.
The people who fill these positions will have expertise in either:
- Computational biology, preferably at the systems level, with a PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline, such as computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics, physics, etc. This person will also have very strong programming skills in C/C++ and be excited by the opportunity to learn immunology.
- Immunology, preferably experienced in vaccine adjuvant research or dendritic cell biology. This person is enthusiastic to learn computational biology.
Please send a letter describing your research interests and expertise, along with a curriculum vitae in PDF via email, to Harrison Daniels (harrison.daniels "at" duke.edu).
Duke University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer; women and members of minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Work-study Programming Jobs at DULCI:
The Duke University Laboratory for Computational Immunology needs two enthusiastic programmers to implement a new computational biology application to automate the analysis of flow cytometry (a high throughput assay of cell phenotype and function). One position requires C++ programming, and the other requires a knowledge of Python and an interest in basic user interface design. No knowledge of flow cytometry is assumed or required. We are looking for students keen to learn from and contribute to the state of the art in the use of statistics and computational biology in clinical flow cytometry. Pay scale is $15.75 per hour. Contact Cliburn Chan at cliburn.chan@duke.edu or 689-2459.
Detailed descriptions of the work study projects are available in this PDF.
